Alberta – Moose and Deer

I recently traveled to Alberta to attend a two day lighting workshop by Joe McNally. After the workshop, I spent a week visiting family and managed to get in two days of wildlife photography. I wasn’t too pleased when it snowed for three days straight, but it was fantastic when in came time to doing some photography. Braving the -24 degree weather, my brother Peter and I explored the Banff, Canmore, and Kananaskis areas. It was a very productive two days of photography, with big-horn sheep, white-tailed and mule deer, elk, moose and coyotes. I was really pleased to finally get a bull moose later in the year than mid July, after spending many trips to Algonquin Park looking for them.

Here are a few photos from the trip. More pictures coming soon

The top one makes me think of the moose hiding its head thinking “I can’t see you so you can’t see me.”
    The second picture is priceless.
